Team Special Olympics

Old logo

Andrew used to maintain a webcomic site (08/25/2003-??/??/2008). Everything he produced for the site over the years can be found on this archive. Said archive includes works such as And It Don't Stop, Inappropriate Time For Ham, Humanimals, and many more. This site inspired MS Paint Adventures (a.k.a. MSPA) a lot. Wayback Machine version here (from April 9th, 2006 09:17:11 GMT). The Authors are Andrew "Special_Olympics" Hussie, Cindy "Betelgeuse" Marie and Bryon "Byrobot" Hussie

Jailbreak

Early comics panel

Despite popular belief there is no pumpkin in this photo. The first webcomic was a comic titled Jailbreak (09/25/2006-02/24/2007) (rereleased from 06/03/2007-06/04/2007) (formerly known as "MS Paint Adventure" and "Escape from Jail Island"). A was about A guy trying to escape from prison. It was made on The Gangbunch Fora (which is the old name for the MSPA Forums) before being put on to a new website mspaintadventures.com on June 3rd, 2007. In 2011 a one page ending was added to finish the story off. (The Gangbunch was a Team Special Olympics Forum before becoming MSPA FORUMS)

Bard Quest

Bard Quest first panel

Bard Quest (06/12/07-07/05/07) was one of Andrew Hussie’s early webcomics on MS Paint Adventures. A comedic adventure series, it followed a naive bard as he explored a fantastical world filled with bizarre characters and absurd humor. The art was simple, with classic pixel-style backgrounds, and the storytelling was funny.

MSPA GOES ON PAUSE

PAUSE

A page saying "I'm putting MS Paint Adventures on indefinite hold. I have a lot of stuff to work on, and it's silly to pretend I can keep up with this regularly at the moment. I will come back to it though. I'd like to iron out some of the features in the (still quite experimental) system. When I do, it will be when I'm able to commit to a regular schedule, maybe even daily. In the meantime, you may read the adventures in their current state here." is the main page until March 10th, 2008.

Problem Sleuth

Problem Sleuth panel

Problem Sleuth (03/10/2008–04/07/2009) marked a significant evolution in MSPA. A parody of noir detective stories, it followed the titular detective and two of his rivals as they become friends and navigate bizarre cases in a surreal, puzzle-filled universe. Unlike Bard Quest, the story was much longer, featuring intricate plots and recurring gags.

Homestuck

Homestuck panel

Homestuck (04/13/2009–10/25/2016) is Andrew Hussie’s landmark webcomic and the most famous MSPA project. It follows a group of teenagers who play a mysterious video game called Sburb, which triggers the destruction of Earth and propels them into a sprawling, universe-spanning adventure. The comic combines traditional webcomic panels with animation, music, interactive games, and reader-controlled choices, pushing the boundaries of what a webcomic could be. Its storytelling is nonlinear, blending comedy, drama, mystery, and science fiction. Characters like John, Rose, Dave, and Jade became cultural icons among webcomic fans, and the introduction of the alien trolls expanded the universe’s scope and complexity. Homestuck is known for its intricate plot, time travel mechanics, layered mythology, and extensive cast. It popularized the use of multimedia storytelling in webcomics and inspired countless fan works, animations, and music albums. Homestuck is the most popular one out of the MSPA series.

Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff

SBAHJ

Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff is a webcomic in the world of Homestuck written by Dave Strider. It also exists on the real-world web. It is quite possibly, no, surely the greatest, deepest, most inspiring webcomic ever. It is unmatched by any other webcomics that have existed or will exist. (But only ironically.)

mspaintadventures.com ceases to exist because VIZ Media buys Homestuck for One Million Dollars.

RIP MSPA (June 3rd, 2007 to April 2nd, 2018)

As part of a reported one-million-dollar deal with Andrew Hussie, Homestuck officially became one of VIZ Media’s published properties. Alongside this acquisition, VIZ launched Homestuck.com as the successor to the aging MSPaintAdventures.com, framing the move as a necessary step away from Adobe Flash, which was already on the brink of obsolescence. Hussie marked the transition with his final official news post on the site, assuring fans that the comic’s future would be stable—perhaps even improved—under VIZ’s stewardship. However, by 2021, the promise had fallen flat: large portions of the site were left broken, and meaningful updates had all but ceased since 2018.

VIZ Media goes bye-bye.

Goodbye VIZ

VIZ Media appears to have lost the publishing rights to Homestuck, according to an email shared by a user on /r/homestuck. Soon after, all references to the comic quietly vanished from VIZ’s official website. By August 2024, it was further confirmed that VIZ no longer had control over Homestuck.com either, despite the site still displaying an outdated copyright notice suggesting otherwise.

Homestuck.com goes down from around March to August 2025

Broken Site

In March 2025, fans of Homestuck experienced significant disruptions when the official Homestuck.com website became largely inaccessible. Users reported widespread issues, including 503 errors, broken pages, and a non-functional search feature. The site had been in a deteriorating state for some time, with reports indicating that it had virtually been untouched since 2018.

Re-release

We are so back

On August 24th, 2025, the official Homestuck Twitter account announced that the homestuck.com website would restart the serialization of Homestuck, by adding a number of pages occasionally to simulate the original update structure. The rerelease went into full effect on September 11th, 2025, with the release of pages 1 through 82. This rerelease was made necessary by problems with the website that made it hard to use, now fully fixed. The website sees almost-daily updates announced in the official Discord server's "#upd8" channel. Problem Sleuth started being rereleased on December 5th, 2025, and finished rereleasing on December 11th, 2025. As of December 2025, Homestuck has not yet been fully re-released.

HOMESTUCK - The Animated Pilot

The pilot was very good imo.

On August 9, 2025, an animated web series pilot was announced by Vivienne "Vivzepop" Medrano (The creator of Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel)'s company SpindleRoo, an Australian division of SpindleHorse, with Skye Henwood as director/writer and starring Toby Fox as John Egbert, Cherami Leigh as Rose Lalonde, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Jade Harley, Adam McArthur as Dave Strider, and Brandon Winckler as Karkat Vantas. In an interview with Polygon, in September 2025, it was noted that the pilot will be 11 minutes long. The animated pilot later released on September 27, 2025. I personally hope it gets turned into a full show.
